Amidst the dramatic mountainscapes of the majestic Kedarnath range stands one of the twelve 'Jyotirlingas' of Kedar or Lord Shiva. Lying at an altitude of 3584 mts. on the head of river Mandakini, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus in India. For me it was just a scenic natural adventure vacation that i had taken and this place was the best. To reach the shrine one had to trek abt 14 kms or take a chopper which reaches in like 10 mins.

The colours in this scare the living bejesus out of me! Fantastic fantastic shot, so vivid and vibrant. Care to explain the shutter speed to me though? It confuses me.

Shutter Speed: 10/9363 second

Another night with your head in the oven, simmering like a heat wave over you.

:D Thanks for appreciating... The shot was taken on an an aperture priority mode... No clue abt the numbers there on the shutter... Now that u bring this to my notice... i c that the cam used there is also erroneous. I've used the E4500 Nikon on the whole trip. This is rather wierd, probably some wrong exif info or sum server mess up ! Glad that u liked this one :) :D

India is magical ! I love it !
Next time go to Vaishno-Devi, Dharamsala, and Rishikesh also - you will love it !
:iconmaggi:
Thanks Rohit ! U r right India roxx. Its varied heritage and scenic locales all around are just spellbounding ! Have been to Rishikesh in the same tour. Visited Musoorie, Hardiwar/Rishikesh, Kedar, Badri & Corbett. We were to go to Nainital after Haridwar, but we decided otherwise as we wanted more adventure to stay in tents and actually see snow capped mountains with other beautiful scenery. Luckily landed at the best place and i long to go there again. Want to go to Dharamshala, Chandratal etc. Infact we were so close to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib but there were a number of people with us who couldn't do it on Health grounds !

Neways thanks for appreciating the shot !

:excited: Thanks ! :D More to come.... ;)
:iconmaggi:
Thanks again :) I too loved the way this shot came out specially love those clouds that are settling down and can u believe it its like 10.30 in the morn and the clouds start to settle down and hide the beauty of the snow capped mountain. So to take a view one has to reach there around 8-9. :)

Maggi this is just an amazing capture, it's like a glimpse at life....I gotta ask, have you thought of doing a B&W yet?
